Anixter Warehouse in Cranbury, New Jersey
Anixter's 281,000 sq. ft. facility uses over 80% less energy with the Easylite ILS.
Anixter’s Cranbury facility is a 281,000 sq. ft. distribution warehouse that contains aisle storage, open area assembly, and shipping/receiving areas.
The facility was initially lighted with 400 watt HID lamps operating 18-20 hours per day at full output.
The retrofit involved a one-to-one replacement of the HID lamps with eight lamp T-8 fixtures equipped with Easylite dimming ballasts and occupancy sensors. During normal operating hours, Anixter’s lighting operates at 10% output in un-occupied areas, and 100% output when occupied. The lighting is scheduled on and off by zone to coincide with warehouse operations.
During scheduled “off” periods, Easylite’s “On Demand” off hour sensing system provides lighting, but only in the area requiring illumination.
Energy Savings
When compared with the old HID system, the Easylite ILS reduced lighting energy use in the facility in excess of 80%. Combined with a utility Company rebate of $.50/sq. ft., Anixter’s energy savings and rebate will pay for their Easylite retrofit in less than 2 1/2 years.
